Design FAQs

Print Safety Guidelines

  • Safety Line (Green Margin): Keep all important text, logos, and images inside this area to avoid trimming issues.

  • Bleed Line (Red Margin): Extend background colors or images to this line for a full-bleed finish (no white edges).

  • Trim Area: The space between the safety and bleed lines where the product is cut. Keep essential content inside the safety line.

Fonts & Languages

You can add text in Malayalam, Hindi, Tamil and other regional fonts.

  • With a native keyboard: Select the text field → choose your font → type directly.

  • Without a native keyboard:

    • Use a virtual keyboard (Google Input Tools, etc.), copy-paste text into the field, and select the right font.

    • Enable the font in your system settings → add the language → use On-Screen Keyboard to type.

Repeat font selection for each text field.

Images & Uploads

  • Upload from: Computer, Previous Uploads, Image Library, Facebook, Instagram.

  • Supported formats include:
    PDF, AI, PSD, BMP, JPG, JPEG, GIF, PCX, PS, PICT, TGA, WMF, EMF, PNG, SVG.

  • Recommended: PDF, AI, PSD for best results.

  • Resolution: 300 dpi minimum at actual size. Use vector files when possible for logos and scalable designs.

Editing Tools

  • Fit/Resize: Drag blue handles to adjust image size.

  • Crop/Rotate: Use the crop option to adjust portions; rotate with line handles.

  • Delete: Select the image → click delete (previous uploads remain available).

  • Full Bleed: Stretch images to cover the entire design area, extending to the red margin.

  • Back Side Design: Add a back side (if supported) → import design → add images/text.

Managing Designs

  • Edit Existing Design: Go to My Account → My Portfolio → select your design → click Edit.

  • Save a Copy: Save as a new file to experiment without overwriting.

  • Reuse Designs: Apply saved designs to other products.

Printing & Colors

  • RGB vs CMYK:

    • RGB = Screen colors (Red, Green, Blue).

    • CMYK = Print colors (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Black).

  • Always design in CMYK for best print accuracy.

  • Slight variations may occur due to screen vs. print differences.

Proofs & Previews

  • Free PDF proof available before printing.

  • To access: Click Proof → Get Proof → View Proof.

  • Proofs available in My Account → My Proofs for 30 days.

  • Requires Adobe Reader (free download at adobe.com).
